Growing up Black in Chicago what we wore on our feet was essential. I remember making sure my parents bought me a fresh pair of sneakers and a pair Timberland boots (Timb's) at the start of every school year. I've always been a footwear first, guy. I feel like you can almost wear anything if what's on your feet is right.
Beside the fact that having a pair of Timberlands were needed for the crazy Chicago weather, a clean pair always seemed to make your fit stand out. During the early 2000's Timb's were such a huge piece of fashion and pop culture.
Recently DSW & Timberland reached out for collaboration, and I was instantly taken back to this major era in street wear. They sent me a pair of the original wheat color boots and I was excited to add them back in my footwear collection.
